What is a Building Defect Report?

Did you know that faulty workmanship could cost your body corporate tens of thousands of dollars? Have your strata company had an insurance claim rejected because an assessor or claims consultant failed to submit a comprehensive report of their findings?

It is an independent building report from an expert which can then be issued to the builder for the construction rectification of the defects or incomplete works. The building inspection report generally consists of a list of problems / issues in certain areas supported by photographs, cost estimates and advice for method of rectification. If the property defect falls within the 6 year period from completion date, it may be claimable against the builder under Home Warranty Insurance.
